Osaka Magical Mirai 2024

It was a sunny Sunday, 9am. I was having a yogurt as breakfast. That’s when a Discord and fellow Project Sekai friend mentioned me on a private server. “Would it be possible for you come to Osaka today for the night show?” he said.

Long short story that was how I ended up watching Magical Mirai 2024 in Osaka.

My friend—we can just dub him as “Bird”—confessed that the person who was supposedly paid for the other ticket ghosted him, leaving him 10k-ish yen loss. He’d rather let someone else use it than let the ticket left unused.

By the way, this is my third Magical Mirai. First one was in 2021, then 2022. I was able to go to all concerts sponsored because of the kinda same reason.

It’s not hard to go to Intex Osaka (thank you, Japan transportation), but it takes long even during the time I live in Osaka. From where I live now it took almost 2 hours one-way.

Anyways, after several struggle I was finally able to met Bird at around 3pm where he handed me 2 tickets: the exhibition hall and the concert ticket itself. He told me to enter the exhibition by myself as people who just finished the afternoon show started to lining up for the re-entry lines. He also given me this Tsukasa badge from Sekai booth, which I did not expect at all!

Photo time

Besides the normal venue, they also have “creators venue” where cosplayers and VocaP are gathering. I bought myself Sekikomi Gohan‘s original tote bag and had it signed by the man himself because I didn’t expect to meet him there. The timing was actually perfect as I needed another bag.

An acquaintance of Bird then joined us then we take some photos inside the exhibition before the venue opens.

As someone who only heights 150cm, rear seat concerns me. Thank god I did not have this concern because luckily, Bird sacked a good seat position (which apparently exclusive for those who applied through “foreigner method”?!). I was able to watch the live just fine except there was one problem: I came unprepared and couldn’t tell most of the songs performed. Some songs are already in Proseka so there wasn’t any problem to me but most of the time I was only able to swing my penlights which is, sad.

One song that makes me hyped was ironically a sad song, “Hajimete no Koi ga Owaru Toki,” which was first of Vocaloid songs I listened to.

I also realized one sad truth: Miku color in my Sekai Live penlight is different from Magical Mirai Miku. Now they know I’m not Miku fan! Ignoring the fact that only I did not wear happi.

The concert lasted for 2 hours. My legs hurt. How are these people still fine?!

Maybe it was me who needed the minimum exercise (or age factor).

After the concert ends, I go straight back to Kyoto since I still have work the next day. Thanks to Bird I was able to experience another Magiral Mirai moment. As someone who isn’t used in speaking English, I had easy and fun time talking to Bird the whole time in English. This encourages me to talk more in English.

Next stop is Sekai Live 4th in Tokyo.
